SUHSD Seal of Biliteracy Eligibility
To qualify for the State Seal of Biliteracy, a student must show proficiency in English and another language through the following ways:
- Demonstrate English Proficiency by one of the following:
- English Class Work: Completing all English Language Arts (ELA) classes with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or above.
- SBAC: Meeting "Standards Met" or above on the English SBAC.
- AP English Exam: Passing an English AP exam with a score of 3 or higher.
- Demonstrate World Language Proficiency by one of the following:
- Class work and Oral Proficiency Interview Pathway: Completing 4 years of the same world language with a 3.0 (or above) GPA AND passing the SUHSD Oral Proficiency Interview.
- Exam Pathway: Scoring a 3 or above on an AP language exam, or scoring Intermediate level on STAMP test.
- Target Language Course History Pathway: Submitting transcript from home country where you completed two years of coursework in target language.
