North Salinas High has a rich tradition of over 60 years of athletic excellence. Dedicated coaches and hard-working student-athletes make for an amazing education-based athletic program.
 
Each student must meet all of the eligibility requirements prior to participating, and complete the athletic clearance steps.

VIKING Athletic Program Resources

  • Register at HOME CAMPUS. https://www.homecampus.com/login
  • If you are a returning athlete simply logon to the account, you previously used & update the school year to the proper year.
  • New students, “create an account” and complete all the information.  
(If you have questions, use the “support” button on the website)
  • You must have a 2.0 GPA and no more than one “f” and no more than one “unsatisfactory (UN)” citizenship mark from Semester 2 of the previous school year. 
  • You “may” be eligible to sign a ONE-TIME high school probationary contract if you don’t meet these requirements.
  • Complete a Concussion Impact test which is now done online.  Simply go to:  IMPACT Testing, enter the code, BDWRR4Z8BC, select North Salinas High School as your organization, go to “Launch Baseline Test”, pick a language, click “OK,”  click “next,” click “next” (again), enter your Date of Birth, and take the test.  IMPACT test must be taken your Freshman & Junior years or if you are a new student to North Salinas High School.   • You need a physical signed & dated by the doctor stating that you are cleared to participate in High School athletics for every school year.  It is preferable to have the exam done May 1st & through the summer before the upcoming school year.  This way, your physical covers the entire school year of athletics. 
  • Download or pick up a physical form in the main office:  NSHS Physical Form. The physical form MUST have a doctor’s signature, the date of the physical, and a doctor’s stamp with his/her address and practice.

  • All High School student-athletes in California MUST have insurance and that information needs to be loaded onto your Home Campus/Athletic Clearance account.

Guidelines for Parents of Student-Athletes
As a parent of a student-athlete at our school, your role is crucial in fostering a positive and supportive environment. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Support the Educational Value: Recognize that athletics are an integral part of the educational experience. The benefits extend beyond the final score of a game.
  • Encourage Effort: Motivate your child to give their best effort in both their athletic and academic endeavors.
  • Cheer Positively: Participate in encouraging cheers that support our student-athletes.
  • Avoid Negative Behavior: Refrain from any form of negative cheering, such as taunting or intimidating opponents, their fans, or officials.
  • Understand the Rules: Learn and respect the rules of the game, and the officials who enforce them.
  • Respect Coaches: Appreciate the role of coaches as educators and support their efforts to guide our youth.
  • Acknowledge Opponents: Show respect to opponents as fellow student-athletes who are striving to do their best.
  • Exhibit Dignity and Civility: Maintain a sense of dignity and civility in all circumstances.
Consequences of Violating Guidelines
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in:
  • Removal: You may be asked to leave the current and future athletic events involving North Salinas High School.
  • Mandatory Course: Completion of a Sportsmanship course may be required for future attendance at North Salinas High School events.
Note: Decisions regarding violations are at the discretion of site administrators (Coaches, Athletic Director, Administration, Site Designee).
Your actions and attitude can significantly impact your child's view of both academics and athletics, influencing their experience and our community positively.

Consecuencias de violar las pautas
 
El incumplimiento de estas pautas puede resultar en:
 
Eliminación: Es posible que se le solicite que abandone los eventos deportivos actuales y futuros que involucran a la Escuela Secundaria North Salinas.
Curso obligatorio: Es posible que se requiera completar un curso de espíritu deportivo para asistir en el futuro a eventos de North Salinas High School.
Nota: Las decisiones con respecto a las infracciones quedan a discreción de los administradores del sitio (entrenadores, director deportivo, administración, designado del sitio).
